this is me

Sarah Sky (1986) is a visual artist who was born in France, grew up in Morocco, studied Literature in New York, and now lives and has her studio in Guatemala.

The places where she has lived have shaped her as an artist and continue to influence her work. She paints to express herself and to know herself. Her works are made up of contrasts - between exuberant, grey, and pastel tones, between organic and geometric forms, between opaque brush strokes and translucent forms. Her style relies heavily on water stain techniques, which allows the viewer a glimpse into the history of each piece, where layers interpose but do not cover each other - a synonym for the transience and fluidity of time.

Her body of work, as a whole, explores the themes of detachment, transitory identities, and the chaos of being alive.

Among her notable achievements are her participation in international art fairs BADA Mexico and World Art Dubai. She has been selected to be awarded the médaille d’argent from the Académie d’Arts-Sciences-Lettres in Paris. Her work has been shown and collected on 4 continents, and her pieces are part of a private royal collection.
